Examples of Leading Golf Schools

While there are over 150 golf schools in the United States, very few are consistently ranked at the top by multiple leading golf publications. Here are some of those schools which caught our eye:

Butch Harmon School of Golf

Butch Harmon has taught professional players such as Fred Couples, Davis Love III, Natalie Gulbis, and of course, Tiger Woods. Now you can learn his approach to golf instruction in one of the world's greatest cities, Las Vegas. The golf school uses the most advanced video computer equipment and analysis software, combined with on-course playing lessons with teaching professionals.

At nearly $6,000 for a three-day package, it's one of the most expensive golf schools. But it's difficult to argue with Butch Harmon's success.

David Leadbetter Golf Acadamy

One of America's top teaching professionals, David Leadbetter operates golf schools at seven world-class locations in the United States. Courses range from one to three days, and are limited to four students to allow for extremely personalized instruction. Leadbetter's certified instructors use extensive video and computer analysis, work with students on club fitting, and provide a take home DVD and action plan. The range of courses are surprisingly inexpensive - the three day mini-schol verson provides nine hours of instruction for under $1000.

Ritson-Sole International Golf School Vacations

Mel Sole, co-founder of the Ritson-Sole Golf School, is one of America's leading golf teachers. Ritson-Sole offers a number of school opportunities in nine North American locations, but what got our attention is their annual international trip. Each year, Mel takes a group of up to sixteen avid golfers to visit world-class venues in locations such as Ireland, Scotland, and South Africa. While the curriculum is more holiday and less drill-oriented teaching, participants get substantial on-course instruction.
