Ten Questions to Ask About Golf School Instructors
Not all golf school instructors are equal. Here are some questions to help
you filter potential choices:
1. How many students are expected, and how many instructors are assigned to my session?
The ratio should be no worse than 3-1. And be careful that a "golf school" is really not really just one solo professional teaching 3-4 students for two straight days under a franchised "golf school" banner.
2. What is the typical range of student ability?
It can be discouraging to be at either end of the typical spectrum, unless it's a beginner-oriented school.
3. Is your philosophy to make adjustments to my game or rebuild it from scratch?
4. Do you cover the entire game, or emphasize a few particular aspects?
5. How do you use technology to assess my strengths and weaknesses?
For example, how is video used, are swing speeds measured, etc.
6. How much time is spent on the course, on the range, and in the classroom?
Think about how you prefer to learn.
7. Does the course involve new equipment (say a free driver or putter)?
8. What happens if there is bad weather for part or all of the course?
Do they just move inside or hope for the best, or is there some sort of credit? Obviously a local golf school and a school requiring travel are going to have different issues
